How to Play
Everything you need to know about UNO.
Setup
Each player is dealt 7 cards. One card is placed face-up in the discard pile to start the game. The remaining cards form the draw pile. The player to the left of the dealer goes first.
On Your Turn
Play a card that matches the top card of the discard pile by either color, number, or symbol. If you can't play, draw a card from the draw pile. If the drawn card can be played, you may play it immediately. Otherwise, your turn ends.
Action Cards
- Skip— The next player loses their turn.
- Reverse— Play order reverses direction. In a two-player game it acts as a Skip.
- Draw Two (+2)— The next player draws 2 cards and loses their turn.
- Wild— Play it on any card and choose the next color.
- Wild Draw Four (+4)— Choose the next color and the next player draws 4 cards. You may only play this if you have no other matching cards.
UNO!
When you play your second-to-last card, you must call "UNO!" If another player catches you before the next turn, you draw 2 penalty cards. You can also challenge other players who forget to call it.
Scoring
When a player goes out, they score points based on the cards remaining in opponents' hands:
- Number cards (0–9)Face value
- Skip / Reverse / Draw Two20 pts
- Wild / Wild Draw Four50 pts
Points carry over across rounds. The first player to reach the target score (default 500) wins the game.
